Math Placement Test
Please read all of the following guidelines and instructions carefully before beginning the exam. If you are having difficulty taking the test, please see our troubleshooting directions.
Guidelines
- Please set aside 45 minutes to take the assessment so that you can complete it in a single sitting. Please complete the assessment prior to your summer registration session so that your placement will be ready when you schedule classes.
- The assessment consists of 25 multiple choice or multiple-select (choose more than one option) questions.
- You have 45 minutes to complete the assessment once you begin the test.
- You may use a calculator and paper and pencil as you take the assessment.
- You may not use online resources or have someone else take the assessment for you.
- The use of outside resources (the internet, having someone else complete the assessment for you) is a violation of Capital University's academic integrity policies.
- This assessment is a portion of your placement. Other items that may be considered are the courses you took in high school, your Math ACT or SAT scores, or other college-level coursework.
- This assessment may be the first part of a multi-step placement process and the course you are initially placed into may change in the first week or two of class based on other placement tools administered in your class.
- Please note: before taking the test, you must accept the invitation to join the class. Check you Capital email account for more information.
